Sour Cream Cheddar and Chive Drop Biscuits
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour (or half and half with wholemeal flour)
- 2tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp sugar (optional)
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 4 tablespoons frozen butter
- 1/2 cup grated cheese
- Chopped chives
- 1 cup buttermilk (sub regular milk with vinegar, sit for 5 mins)
- 1/2 cup sour cream
Method
- Mix all dry ingredients together in a bowl
- Fine grate butter into bowl. Chop in until resembles coarse meal
- Add in cheese and chives
- Mix in milk and sour cream until just combined
- Use spoons to drop into even balls on lined baking tray (makes approx 14-16 depending on size)
- Top each with some grated cheese
- Bake at 450F (230C) for 12-15 minutes or until just browned
