Basic Sweet Dough
Used for cinnamon buns, raisin bread, hot cross buns...
Ingredients
- 2tsp sugar
- 1cup warm water
- 2packages yeast
- 1cup milk
- 1/4 cup margarine/butter
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 2eggs
- 6cups flour
- 1.5 cups sugar
Method
- Mix warm water and sugar in bowl. Add yeast and let it sit to ferment
- Warm milk, add sugar, eggs, butter and salt with yeast
- Add half flour and mix
- Knead and keep adding flour to make a smooth satiny dough. Knead for 8-10 minutes
- Place in greased bowl nd let raise until doubled in size (approx 1.5 hours)
- Punch dough down and use as desired
- Let dough rise again before baking
- Bake at 350F (30-40minutes for loaves)
