Buttermilk Scones
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 6 fluid oz buttermilk (3/4 cup)
- 3 tbsp butter at room temperature
- Cheese & green onions (optional, cut salt)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425F.
- Grease a baking sheet
- Sift the dry ingredients into a bowl. Rub in te butter or margarine with your fingertips until the mixture resembles bread crumbs.
- Gradually pour in the buttermilk, stirring with a fork to form a soft dough.
- Roll out the dough untilk 1/2 inch thick or thicker.
- Cut into wedges with a sharp knife.
- Place on the baking sheet and bake until golden (12-15mins).
