Buttermilk Scones

Buttermilk scones

Ingredients

 

  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 6 fluid oz buttermilk (3/4 cup)
  • 3 tbsp butter at room temperature
  • Cheese & green onions (optional, cut salt)

 

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425F.
  2. Grease a baking sheet
  3. Sift the dry ingredients into a bowl. Rub in te butter or margarine with your fingertips until the mixture resembles bread crumbs.
  4. Gradually pour in the buttermilk, stirring with a fork to form a soft dough.
  5. Roll out the dough untilk 1/2 inch thick or thicker.
  6. Cut into wedges with a sharp knife.
  7. Place on the baking sheet and bake until golden (12-15mins).
