Portugese Sponge Cake

Ingredients

  • 5 large Eggs, room temp
  • 3 oz Granulated Sugar
  • 2 ½ oz of sifted flour
  • 2 tbsp Milk
  • 5 tbsp Butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
  2. Separate the eggs.
  3. Mix yolks and sugar with a beater until creamy.
  4. Beat whites until stiff by not dry and gently fold into yolk mixture.
  5. Sift in the flour, blend in the milk and the melted butter.
  6. Line cake pan or muffin tins with wax paper.  Fill ¾ full with batter.
  7. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until done.
  8. Remove from oven and invert to cool.
