Butter Sponge Cake (Pound/Shop Cake)
Ingredients
- 1lb flour
- 1lb sugar
- 5 eggs
- 2tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup butter
- Essence
Instructions
- Cream butter and sugar.
- Add eggs one at a time.
- Sift flour with baking powder and baking soda.
- Add alternately with milk beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
- Bake at 350 degrees until top is golden and cake tester comes out clean.
