Chocolate Cake
Serves 8-10
Ingredients
- ¾ cup butter
- 1 2/3 cups sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 2/3 cup cocoa
- 1 ¼ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- 1tsp salt
- 1 1/3 cups water
Instructions
- Combine butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla in large mixer bowl, beat on high for 3 minutes.
- In separate bowl, combine flour cocoa, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
- Add flour alternatively with water to creamed mixture.
- Blend just until combined.
- Pour into greased and floured 9 inch layer pans or a 13x9 inch pan.
- Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean.
- Cool for 10 minutes.
- Remove from pan and let cool.
