Chocolate Cake

Serves 8-10

Ingredients 

  • ¾ cup butter
  • 1 2/3 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2/3 cup cocoa
  • 1 ¼ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • 1tsp salt
  • 1 1/3 cups water

 

Instructions

  1. Combine butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla in large mixer bowl, beat on high for 3 minutes.
  2. In separate bowl, combine flour cocoa, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
  3. Add flour alternatively with water to creamed mixture.
  4. Blend just until combined.
  5. Pour into greased and floured 9 inch layer pans or a 13x9 inch pan.
  6. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean.
  7. Cool for 10 minutes.
  8. Remove from pan and let cool.
