Cooked Beans
Ingredients
- Dried beans (Red beans, kidney beans, lima beans, lentils...)
- Chicken stock, beef stock, ham drippings, ham bone or pig tail.
- Onions
- Celery
- Tomatoes
- Parsley
- Garlic
- Seasoning
- Squash
- Black pepper
- Salt
- Sugar
Instructions
- Wash and soak beans overnight in water with a tablespoon of vinegar.
- Dice and fry up the onions, celery, tomatoes and parsley. Add salt, black pepper, garlic and seasonings.
- In a slow cooker or pot, add beans and enough water to just cover the beans.
- Add stock or alternative meat.
- Add fried vegetables, squash and sugar. Cook on low for several hours until beans are ready.
