Modified Instant Ramen

Modified Instant Ramen

Ingredients

  • 1 package instant Ramen soup with noodles and soup base
  • 2 Dried Chinese mushrooms (pre-soaked for at least an hour)
  • Water
  • Ginger
  • Celery
  • Carrots
  • Green onions
  • Sesame oil
  • Wonton meat
  • Wonton wrappers
  • Shrimp
  • Egg

Instructions

  1. Soak Chinese mushrooms for at least an hour.
  2. Cut ginger, carrots, celery and mushrooms into thin strips.
  3. To pot add water, soup base, ginger, carrots and sliced mushrooms. Let simmer.
  4. Remove shell from shrimp and cut in half.
  5. Fold dumplings with wonton meat and half a shrimp inside. Leave shrimp tail outside.
  6. Boil Ramen noodles, drain and place in bowl.
  7. Boil dumplings and place in bowl.
  8. Add sliced celery to stock and let simmer until slightly cooked. (carrots can also be added here instead for a crisper texture)
  9. Add sliced green onion and sesame oil to soup base and pour over noodles and dumplings in the bowl.
  10. Break a raw egg into the soup and stir to let cook if desired.
  11. Serve with your favorite Chinese vegetable (eg. pak choi)
