Auntie Jackie's Fry Bakes

Use for stuffed bakes

Ingredients

  • 8 cups Flour
  • 3 cups Water
  • 2 tsps Baking Powder
  • 2 tsps Yeast
  • 2 tsps Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 3 ozs shortening or or margarine

Method

  1. Dissolve sugar in 1/2 cup warm water then add yeast
  2. Let yeast get happy :)
  3. Add all other ingredients
  4. Knead into a soft dough
  5. Let rest for approx 1.5 hours
  6. Roll into balls
  7. Let balls rest another hour
  8. Flatten and fry (floats) or fill (bakes)
