Korean Pancakes
Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- garlic powder
- Mix ingredients in bowl.
- Whisk together adding water to achieve pancake batter-like consistency
- Add filling (see ideas below) to batter and mix. Fillings can be powdered with flour to make sure they don't get too wet.
- Fry with oil in pan, making sure not to make pancake too thick.
- Serve with dipping sauce made from 2 parts soy sauce and 1 part vinegar.
Filling
Filling can be whatever you like, but here are some ideas:
- Kimchi (cut into tiny pieces)
- Seafood (shrimp, squid, scallops)
- Kowchoi (garlic chives; cut into 1" strips)
- Green Onions
- Bean Sprouts
- Perilla leaves (ginip)
