Aruba Fish Balls

Balchi Di Pisca

Funchi

Ingredients

  • 1 pound red snapper fillets or other white fish
  • 1 teaspoon green seasoning or some fresh chopped thyme leaves
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon chilli flakes
  • salt and pepper to taste.
  • 3 tablespoons flour plus more for dusting fishballs

Method

  1. Remove all bones from fish. Cut into small dices, about 1/2 inch size.
  2. Season and let marinate for a few minutes
  3. Add flour  spreading in batches and stir to coat all pieces of diced fish
  4. Roll into balls, dust lightly in flour and place on plate until ready to panfry. Should make about 15 to 18 balls
  5. Heat oil in pan on medium heat. Put in balls and let brown then roll to brown all around. Do not over cook.
  6. Drain on paper towel. 
  7. Serve with creole sauce, fried funchi, fried plantain, rice and a salad
