Chocolate Meringues

Paulette's recipe

Ingredients

  • 210g egg whites at room temp
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 170g chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder

 

Instructions

  1. Whisk egg whites until firm.
  2. Add sugar and continue to whisk.
  3. Sieve chocolate powder over chocolate chips.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips and cocoa into meringue.
  5. Pipe or use spoon to put meringues onto parchment papered trays.
  6. Bake for approximately 30 minutes at 275 degrees.
  7. Meringues will be soft to touch when removed from over.
  8. When cooled they can be stuck together with nutella.
  9. Dust with icing sugar.
